Looks pretty but if its black and gold it should be powered by a Bevel drive Ducati . Has any1 ridden a late model Noton ?

Read only good things about them, and they are bespoke machines.
New thruxton gets close for a lot less though.

Bollocks! Been Black and gold Nortons around for years.
I rode a 750 Ducati in the late 70's, took it back to the owner and asked if a plug lead was off as it was so gutless. He wasn't amused. :)

Of course there were , my older bro had 1 when i was a kid . Duke owner was probably just making it safe for ya and didn't want you to shit your pants on their bikes seat . I would be thinking if you line ya Noton 850 up against a 750 Duke you would see very similar numbers on the speedo . Cool story though .
