Is it illegal to . . . .

Throw eggs at the drivers window of people using their phones while driving?

sw20, Dec 9, 5:58pm
Why are you bothered by someones actions that have zero effect on you?

jantar, Dec 9, 6:08pm
I have had more close calls from idiots talking on cell phones than from any other class of idiot on the road.

Probably is illegal, but shouldn't be.

gsimpson, Dec 9, 6:10pm
If another persons actions have zero effect on other people why are those actions not allowed?

magoo2, Dec 9, 6:14pm
Is it illegal to use your phone while driving to report someone throwing eggs at you?

sw20, Dec 9, 6:31pm
The fact someone is using a phone is neither here nor there if nothing untoward happens. If they cause an incident and being on the phone was a contributing factor, they need to be punished in the courts, with the phone use as an aggravating factor.

The close calls I have had have always been people deciding that Stop signs and red lights don't apply to them.

nightboss, Dec 9, 6:33pm
They do not have "zero effect" on me.

sw20, Dec 9, 6:37pm
Does every cell phone user crash into you? Or does your inner Policeman get really angry because someone is breaking the rules and you want to see them punished?

henderson_guy, Dec 9, 6:39pm
Maybe you should concentrate on your own driving, instead of worrying what everyone else is doing.

snoopy221, Dec 9, 6:42pm
Do ya drive around with a dozen saved up.
For the opportunity?

tgray, Dec 9, 6:42pm
Walk up to them and take a photo of their number plate. I did that once and the look on their face was priceless.

panicky, Dec 9, 6:47pm
The ones texting and driving are far worse

cagivachick1, Dec 9, 6:53pm
i saw someone driving towards me texting and driving today, i was so outraged i almost dropped my pie

lookoutas, Dec 9, 7:01pm
Was it the one you ate 4 hours previously?

lil_miss_moo, Dec 9, 7:58pm
Make sure you always blow on the pie.

pauldw, Dec 9, 10:06pm
There is an exemption for *555 or 111 calls if you can't stop.

morrisjvan, Dec 9, 10:35pm
No, of course not -rip into it !

bjmh, Dec 10, 5:41am
a compressed air actuated spud type gun would ramp it up a bit.

kazbanz, Dec 10, 6:25am
In west Auckland recently I was witness to the ultimate "duu" on this subject.
I was in the right lane in slow moving traffic with a car to the left of me.Driver Yacking away on their phone oblivious to the world. Cop car pulls in behind them and flicks on their lights .Still oblivious the driver carried on through two sets of lights.Even the bull horn was ignored.
I'm pretty neutral on the phone use in car bit. But phone use to the exclusion of the world really is beyond a joke.

Yeah throw an egg blurr their vision and end up
with a bigger potential hazard than what you started with.

Its why we have the police - only person with the right to do
such things is Charles Bronson.

trogedon, Dec 10, 8:25am
Go for it!

rob_man, Dec 10, 10:31am
You must live in a different country to me, I can't recall this ever happening in mine.
I have more trouble with the 47kmh morons getting in my way.

shaun16, Dec 10, 11:31am
a lady I work with said her partner got a $80 fine and 20 demerit points the other day. he was driving a tractor and on the phone and cop pulled him up!

nightboss, Dec 10, 2:59pm
Unfortunately Charles Bronson has been unavailable to assist with egg throwing since his untimely death in 2003.
Chuck Norris is keen to help but he throws the eggs through the closed windows not against them.

A egg blur on the window is my intended result, not the front window, the drivers side window and dribbling down both the outside and inside the drivers door.
I think the effect will work best on the "arrogant immigrant" types crossing the Harbour Bridge back home to the North Shore between 5:30 and 6:30 pm in their near-new German bling-bling machines.
