Ill be here Ray, only cos I live next door :) Its packed already today (yesterday haha) track is longer, new extended pits, extra marques and a ton of extra cars this time. Rod has spent even more "serious" money this time, should be awesome for sure.

I heard that, but all things equal he has spent several million dollars setting it up - not many private individuals anywhere in the world would even consider that. I know what ya mean though, I guess it keeps away the boy racers haha. Its always been an invite only too so this time he is obviously turning things around to a (and I can only guess) break even or less type of event. It all started as his birthday treat to himself to have his own race track at home, now its every petrol heads dream - im lucky to know him personally :) Good down to earth honest fella pumping many thousands into the local economy and the NZ tourism industry. Cap off to him :)

If only half of what I've heard is true, mr5 and I are going to have an awesome day. A modest entry fee for drivers and spectators in no way detracts from the overall experience, it sounds like an event for top drivers and machines.

great weather for it too. im sure it will get bigger every year. not cheap to get in to though ($90 if i remember correctly). i was looking at going this year but have to much other stuff to do.

^^ saw him at Highlands the man has no fear , what looks like impossible corners to get around at speed he does at full noise , there is a bridge there with bend just past it at the exit & he arrives airborne . Think ill go to the Race for the Sky as all the big boys are coming over .

It was an awesome day at Leadfoot! Great weather, great crowd and absolutely awesome cars and drivers. Mad Mike was loud but he had nothing on the sound produced by "Rat trap", that thing is LOUD!

I have some awesome pics of both the big boys smoking out big style, todays the day for Rod to stamp his feet again, down in the 42 second lap times, now that is fast. Its $40 on the gate - $95 was the full three days stevo, could have stayed here, wife was away for the weekend :)

Thanks unideck. The accommodation isnt to much of an issue as we have a family bach at Whiritoa which is only an hour or so away. I looked at the pamphlet and it just said $90 (or $95) entrance fee and couldnt quite justify that at the moment Glad you enjoyed the weekend. Cheers Stevo
