Funnily enough, something in here tweeked a memory.

Mate of mine ran a Triumph SU with a turbo on his 1600 escort in a blow-thru configuration, however, seemed to think it was like drving the car with a large rubber band between the accelerator and throttle linkage. Things are probably better now (20 years on).
