Hi all, I'm thinking of getting rid of my 4wd truck and caravan to buy a manual diesel 5-7m long minibus ie Toyota Coaster, Nissan Civilian or Mitsubishi Fuso (Rosa) for daily camping with the family in the summer.
Can anyone please tell me the running and maintenance cost of those minibuses?
I read through the nzta.govt.nz and still not very clear. my understanding is -COF is like a WOF (but it has to be done 6monthly)? -Non-petrol driven - 3501-6000kg GVM $590.78 for a year? -if its over 6000kg GVM I will need a class 2 license? -if its over 12seater, I will need a passenger license? -what happens if the minibus has over 12 seaters, can I legally remove it to 12 and put it back on just before COF?! or what if I just leave it as 12 seaters? -when it comes to servicing, will any local mechanics/garages do the job? or do I have to take it to heavy diesel mechanics and etc? -Is there anymore charges or cost that I have miss? -If I modify the inside, taking seats out and putting bedding and etc, do I need any compliance or fitness and etc?!
Any Coaster, Civilian and Fuso Rosa owners out there, can provide me the running cost (such as how many kms per L) of their vehicle would be much appreciated.
