A truck carrying a rather large new John Deere tractor has hit the overbridge on the by-pass at Otorohanga. The cab is now suitable for vertically challenged drivers, with all the driver training re H.T you'd wonder that this still happens.

What driver training? I had my HT for near 50 years until I gave it up. No driver training at any time.
Had no HT related accidents, but I did apply common sense and kept my eyes open.

the whangarei rail bridge got hit a few times , and even in europe i seen accidents like tipper fully open driving under bridge smack the driver hits his head on the roof of the cab . or how the swiss morons make roundabout so small that trucks fall on there side going round them, 3 trucks tipped on one of the same roundabout that i lived near by over there. Dont worry it be just the coppers wo will say oh nooo me must make sure we hand out higher fines for everyone to keep you all more save.

this is the biggest problem of todays people NO common sense, you dont need to think when they go and remove power poles so you cant hit them no more , fines will keep you all save no need to think just pay up and your save is what is been told .

from what I can gather you need a law degree now to pass H.T. not like my cop ,after driving him around the local streets,he says do want a heavy trailer as well. I've seen you towing the salvage trailer. that was a long time ago as well.

Yeh, the bridge over the Hikurangi bypass was cocked up by about a meter. too low. I was told the ground under it had to be lowered to compensate, but still too low. (Kinda like the council 'let' the Winz in Kamo stay 1.5m too far close to the road). Normal (non council staff) people would have to move it back to the registered boundry!

There's an overhead rail bridge in a little place called Ohura. I would think twice about trying to take a Hi-Ace through there. Used to even duck in a car!

Oops got it wrong too. The Hika bridge was right, the ground under it was too soft so they just kept filling till it was hard. bridge still a meter too low.

Some tard moving a digger on the back of a truck smashed the arm of the digger into the railway overbridge near Silverstream. twice. on two separate occasions, a couple of weeks apart last year. Trains were out for days while the bridge was inspected and assessed, it was a giant pain in the @r$e getting to work. I don't think they ever found the culprit.
Somewhere, a man is probably still wondering how the arm of his digger got so scratched up.

My brother and nephew are both truck drivers. My brother doesn't have a lot of time for the drivers of "H" units. The number of them that have no idea where they can actually drive is amazing.
