so in the land of profit at any cost as long as its someone else paying, they've managed to ignore conservation or sustainability common sense and completely destroy what was once iconic, now the other users of the area will have to find another place and hope that doesn't get raped too

They use Lake Gairdner in Australia. Late February early March next year. Doesn't happen every year, and it looks like one hell of a trip.

The road off the end of where we live gets some high speed action at irregular intervals.
