When cleaning motor parts/bit,s an bobs there is an ole school method. I have a ole metal bath,an ole 3b diesel motor,what is the mikture(bad spelling cos just finished a niteshift harvest). What makes the mix?. cheers AJ

Means to leave dirty stuff soaking for a while.
Used to be that you would soak an engine block etc. in an acid or caustic bath for a while to get the crud off. I guess variations are still done.
Another way is to soak it in an electrolyte such as washing soda and water and pass a current through it, this is good for surface coatings.

Can't remember what ratios and what acids for what metals but may pay to read this it may help. Personally its easier and more cost effective to have it done professionally it'll save you the problem of getting rid of the stuff in a safe "Green" way
Take it to local reconditioner& put in his hot wash cabinet . cheaper than mucking around with chemicals acids etc & it does a really good job .
