hi I have a factory vl v8 sw and I have taken the quadrajet off and replaced it with another quadrajet off a 350 chev it runs but was wonding because its off a bigger engine will it cause it to burn any thing out or damage my engine cheers

Why would a carb from a larger engine run lean?

Just go by the exhaust colour you will probably notice lighter colour if it is running lean and maybe could run a bit hotter, running lean is not so good for the motor, running rich wont do any harm.

Depends on several variables, but it does seem to be not uncommon.

Note, I did not say it would run lean, but of the likely outcomes, lean would be the one to cause damage to the engine.

Go to a tune up place and get them to test it with an exhaust gas analyser.
