USA mercury 15 hp 2 stroke Tiller shift

does any one know for sure the differences between the 9.9 and the 15 hp engines. Tried to google and can??

Look up a parts list online and it will have a complete breakdown of the serial numbers and which models share which bits.

Thanks mechnificent, exactly what I needed. Just got to check some serial numbers now to double check, but it seems that the only difference is the carbie, which I happen to have a 15 hp one and a 9.9 engine, so will be an easy upgrade to do now.

not pertinant but interesting.
Many states and provinces in North America require a
Power Boat Operating Certificate if the horse power of the engine is 10 or more, hence most engines are slightly under 10, that is 9.9 horse 9.8 etc.
