The Legacy B4 is not the worst car in the world, but they were a bit unreliable even for a Subaru. If you get one it may do something horrible like the gearbox blows.
The B4 came in two types, the famous B4 RSK twin turbo and then there were some badged B4 but were non turbos.
A non turbo model could be an OK buy, it probably won't have been thrashed much. If something breaks on it just fix it and keep going, they are good cars.
