What have I got here guys?

Being as I'm merely an enthusiast not a mechanic, I have to admit I'm stumped as to what these two items are called/used for? Would be for use on older cars most likely, and thats all I got. Any help appreciated.

pic 1 looks like part of a puller set. pic 2 looks like valve refacers and spark plug hole taps.

Awesome, cheers for that. Feel a bit silly having to ask, but when you don't know ya don't know lol. Thanks again.

Don't get too excited I could be wrong haha. Wait till one of the oldies comes in and tells you it's a tool to cut leather big end bearings for a model t or some silly thing

actually One pic looks like half a chain splitter. what scale are thos pics?
The other did look like some kind of valve seat cutter

Haha. well it sounds good to me. When you said part of a puller, I looked again and thought of course! How the hell could I not have figured that out!

2sheddies, Nov 10, 6:31pm
True that. And I'm more than happy to admit I'm certainly no mechanic. Wouldn't want to be nowadays. modern engines do my head in!

I've just used my phone camera so don't know exactly the scale, but the two T bar things would probably fit in your palm.

The cutters are definitely valve seat cutters. Cutter heads screw onto the handles and the center pin goes into the valve guide.

The threaded items are a type of puller. The first looks like an automotive A/C compressor clutch puller. Second one is probably the same, just a different model compressor. The other items could be spacers/drifts for the same. Hard to tell.

They look like the tools I borrowed off my plumber mate to reseat leaking taps, where the washer seals.

No such thing as a dumb question - only dumb answers

bigfatmat1, Nov 10, 7:26pm
1st pick looks like some bush pullers used when you cannot push a bush through

bigfatmat1, Nov 10, 7:29pm
One of the pullers looks like a crank puller off a bike as well

Nippon Denso AC compressors from mid 80's had a ~M25 mm thread in the pressure plate. You wound in your large thread that looked like the first item and it had a M6 bolt through the centre that eased off the pressure plate. I had to get one specially made. Used it once, still in tool box.

Later compressors had a M6 bolt holding the pressure plate on with a M8 thread in the hole. Remove the M6, insert a M8 and off it pops.

Cheers for all the helpful answers everyone. Knew this would be the place to go!

#1? Any takers for a clutch plate alignment tool? Maybe missing some parts?

It does look like a 'pulling tool' (sic) though.

Correct , i wouldn't feel silly either . Thinking you know, and knowing you feels quite different in your head space .
