Are they STAMPED "BOC or NZIG" If yes then they belong to BOC.
Otherwise. .
$1 reserve & you might be surprised what you get for them & nothing to loose apart from some time

dx bottles can be filled by supagas . boc want you to rent bottles at enormous rates they quite happely destroy them for you so they can extort rent from you next ime you need gas

if you sell the bottles make sure pickup only as couriers cant ship them even if empty they must be certified empty with documentation befor any non hazard courier can transport empty bottles

Never let BOC see them, get it retested and fill at Supergas.

if u have a mig welder convert one to either argon or c02. bring or send to cylinder testing in dunedin and they can covert it and fill it as well. do not take it back to boc.

boc are thieves. I run CO2 instead on a 5kg bottle. Lasts ages and costs about $60 to refill. Still get nice welds but you get a little bit of splatter on the gas shield that I have been told doesn't happen with Argoshield.
Definitely beats renting though, Ive had the welder coming up two years and have filled up 3 times (once cos I left gas on then the hose popped off!) so Im not exactly a heavy user of it, maybe once a week. Not enough to justify rental anyway.
