Giz to 888

Oh well there goes my support of SVG.
Hope he realizes RD will have him wrapped up so tight contract wise that he can kiss bye bye to drifting and any other motorsport in NZ.

Also for a person that has ALWAYS said he just wants to 'drive' and doesn't like the fanfare and hype of the "circus" he's made himself into a bit of a hypocrite, pfffffft.

Hes should fit right in with Whincup and Roland

Whole saga from the beginning has been all smoke and mirrors the stones knew it.

Seems so don't it.

Maybe Betty should be in a wee corner thanking the powers that be he left.

Hey he's a professional race car driver.(with a shit load of talent). 888/Red Bull will open plenty of doors for him outside of V8 Supercars. Ya can't blame him for taking an opportunity like that. Drifting and NZ motorsport won't put money in the bank. Good career move Giz. Good luck

I agree, it's the best move he could make in OZ motorsport.

My point is how hypocritical he looks now.

And as far as that Dane goes, he's even worse. I recall a comment he made about SVG being a mercenary when he pulled the pin on Betty, also the vitriol he spewed at 'the cowboy' after they nabbed Burgess.
Seems it's ok when Dane does it tho', and only one race into the season. The man has NO class in my opinion.

Good on him, he's got himself a good drive and a great chance. Sure he'll have to sacrifice some playtime but he's an adult now and playing with a top v8 ain't bad.

Giz is going to be allowed to race whatever he likes so long as it does not clash with 888 commercial arrangements. Speculating here: I wonder if we will see a red bull drift car or other red bull sponsored machines being steered by the giz, he probably suits their style of fun and adrenaline better than lowndes and wingecup

Agree. SVG should do whats best for himself.
Hope he doesn't end up with a reputation like SonnyBill tho.

Giz has matured a hell of a lot in his time with Tekno and I think that applies to his performance on track and off. Two years ago he was a very quick race car driver - period. Today he is still that very quick driver but has learned restraint and a little humility. Whoever is responsible for coaching him on PR stuff has done a fine job.

So WHY WHY WHY would he jump in to bed with a cock socket like Roland Dane. Shane wins races on race tracks, Roland wins races with protests. Dane has not the slightest shred of integrity and I would hate to see Giz infected with the same whinging, whining, childish mentality that seems to apply to everyone at 888 except Lowndes.

This from RD.

"But I am very comfortable because he is very comfortable driving other cars ??

Just off topic slightly, should he have let JC past after the knock at Adelaide?

There seem to be mixed opinions on this. The move itself wasnt stupid but if the letter of the rulebook was to be observed there was a chance of a penalty.
Given that 888 and Roland Dane are the topic here - let's just say if it were Whincup in Courtney's position then there is not the slightest doubt that Dane would have been calling for immediate penalties.

Shane made what I think was the right decision by redressing the situation. Firstly he showed sportsmanship, secondly he removed the potential for penalty - top man.
