2006 Mazda6 GLX

Hi there

I'm having a couple of issues with my Mazda6

1 - Electric windows are not working correctly on the driver's door controls. I'm sure it's the switch unit, but I need to know what I'm looking for in order to fix it.

2 - My lock/unlock button doesn't work often, due to the ignition thinking there's still a key in the barrel (I know this due to the INCESSANT beeping 95% of the time I open the driver's door). Does anybody know of any cheap and/or easy remedies to this bug?

Thanks

You could try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes which may reset everything.

Windows probably need programming

for window in windows:
if window not in(workingList):
fixIt()
else:
print("This window aint working!")

2006 is in the years where things get extreem difficult for diy you need to figure if it is a fault or if the module just lost its programming, Yes most things need coding when they are unplugged on new cars. windows often can be reprogrammed by manually operating switches in a sequence like pressing it 2 times when the window shuts and no i did not say thats the programming that is just a explenation of how the manual diy can work to programm windows

now reading your fault discription would make sense the thing is the fix is then to repair the beeping. as all is networked on bus systems where modules send txt messages out and receive them from any other module on the bus network.
This is how it works in real basic therms So the ignition lock is constantly texting that the key is in the barrel even do its not. so the door module gets these txt to not lock door etc what ever its programmed to do when it gets information like this
the beeping will need fixing so the ignition dont sends txtx messages out in to the bus that the key is in the barrel.
That is how it would work , if the ignition dinger is hooked in to the can bus or other bus system can is controller -area -network and it 100% runs a bus system on a 2006
Now you think why do they make such stupide things.
its to save on wiring databus system 2 to 4 wires carry all information for any module no individual wires for any extra aplication needed . and it can tell the ecu about conditions like your trailer hooked on so stability controll knows via the bus that its got to calculate you have a trailer on the back.
This is the good part but there is a ton of nightmare stuff attched to this also like a shorted bus can mean no starting engine and no comunication with any code reader or fancy scanners on any car with can-bus

it could be just dust in your ignition you would want to find out how the beeper gets triggered and lubricate the mechanism if you have a normal key whom pushes a switch for the beeper. This could potentially solf all your poroblems

Part of the key hasn't snapped off in there has it?

jason, both keys are complete and intact. Periodically, the beep will be stopped, and I can use the keyless entry buttons on the key-remote
