the old girl has developed a small problem at idle it sits at 900rpm in gear and bout 950 park or neutral and at 100kms sits at 2000 only other system is very slight rough idle .195kms on clock any ideas ?

get some throttle body cleaner and give the t/b a birthday. good place to start. also check that no vacuum connections are cracked. rubber bungs or hoses.

hey thanks done that . just put motor back in was doing it before I pull out . pull it out to replaced all frost plugs and did intake gasket (so pull in cleaned t/b and rear main at same time. no vacuum leaks can I find replaced coil pack because had one ,made no difference. have a mate knows stuff all really rekons my lock up convertor but as I said to him must two probs then because at idle in park trans not affected .he rekons because is electronic lol

One thing that does happen to those is a wire on the back of the alternator can degrade at the connection. It's in a little plastic cover so is impossible to find if you're looking for a potential problem. Have a look at that, and if it's in bad nick just cut it back a bit and re-crimp a round connector on, and refit. Might be as simple as that. might not. Good luck mate.
