The wide-body kit with its flared wheel arches looks pretty cool from certain angles, like an E30 M3.

Its not that bad actually, not my cup of tea though, modding is tough work. Certainly looks like a lot of thought went into it.

without all the body-kit stuff it wouldn't be so bad, but then Im biased to ute conversions lol

More like a lot of 'vision' without thought

Don't get me wrong here. I respect the amount of work involved, BUT, Can't respect the end result

First rule of thumb towards building a ute - get the bloody tray line 2 to 3 inches above the bottom line of the door glass. And make a decent sized 1/4 section to tie the roof into the side panel. So it doesn't bend in half!
Without the OTT body kit, and with lights that fitted and a few other things I don't think it's that awful. Assume its a Sylvia underneath? Bar across the tray would be a problem if you wanted to carry anything significant in it.

Agreed, much better

Umm, wonders if exhaust is wofable?

The strut brace is probably required coz it's not built strong enough. Just like it needs the roll bar to stop it from bending in the middle. The brace wouldn't get in the way - it doesn't look like it's got a functional tailgate anyway.
If that thing has been complied, someone needs shooting.

agree, my sides aren't that high (although above the window line as you say) but the deck is quite low too, those are big dogs (40 & 58 kg) sitting down, yet still heaps of side height https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/371751781.jpg

It looks Crap and the handling is probably rubbish .

drives & handles just like any car (of that age) thanks. In fact probably goes, handles & gets better mileage than the original car due to less weight

Looks like a true "utility" vehicle to me in every sense of the word.
That's for the above not the OP.
