No excuses, but I learned very early on when supervising a hard working bunch in Europe, after they'd been given a night off, that some got very obnoxious when drunk, (include violent), some just got noisy, some got happy and some went to sleep.
My suspicion is that had he been sober, the outcome might have been totally different and we wouldn't be discussing it here - and the programme would have carried on.

President of the European union. That his new job title. Think about it. Putin is doing a great job slowly building up power base again, Europe needs a new leader to take him on. Putin is rather more bombastic arrogant and rude I admit, but Europeans wouldn't take to the full on style of his, a softened down version like Clarkson might work. Then let boris take over Britain and the job centres will be awash with health and safety and PC keepers. Now who can we put up to run the South Pacific? not Henry he ain't got Brian's for it. Winston? I'd vote if these new style leaders banned speed camera vans, raised tolerance to 30km, and introduced system for sobbing in coppers who give out petty tickets. Oh and no tax on gas.
