I'm not too worried whether the numbers are correct or not, what I need to know is is a requirement for me to display the label?

The Tare weight is the empty weight of the van 02410 kg and the gvm is the laden weight 02590 kg therefore 180 kg diff ? The GCW is the van and trailer combined . Something is wrong with the paper work . It is your responsibility for it to be correct .
Is it a NZ conversion or fully built up import ?
Have you got a model number for the vehicle or a photo please ?

I wonder if the Tare Weight takes into account all the stuff that was permanently added to the van when outfitted, therefore only leaving a small amount between that and the GVM.
If that's the case then I'm pretty sure the van will be quite a bit over 2590 when in holiday mode. I have no way of finding this out of course, my truck scales seem to be missing.
If it is wrong then I just love how it's my problem for it to be right when someone else has cocked it up. Good old NZ rules again.
Pretty sure it's a NZ camper fitment. Might be CI Munro. Dunno.
Still just want to know if I have to display the label.

OK, so as far as I can tell from nzta website virm portal, since it's not a Heavy Vehicle, No CoF, under 3500kg it doesn't need a CoL.
Off it comes. Thanks all.

Take it to a weigh bridge and put it on it that will give you an idea of its weight , rubbish transfer stations do that for only a few bucks
I suspect the GVM is probably 3490kg which would make the other figures make sense . Wonder why it had a COL on it in the first place ?

Perhaps because as a rental it was subject to a CoF and so somebody felt the CoL should go with it too. I notice the CoL was issued in 2001 when the van was brand new and therefore a rental.
Nowadays it's subject only to a WoF and I can find no reference to any WoF vehicle requiring a CoL.

Egad ya have *crakedit* So ya GCM is over 45 and yip add water and waste tanks etc. By Gum every truck can run on unladen K'S not GCM. [Think you will find that as a fully laden vehicle towing a trailer with a given Gross Combined Mass over 4500 kg's it needs a Certificate Of Loading-as it CAN be a laden weight OVER 4500]

Yeah but no towbar so can't happen. Also has a great big step bolted on in place of a towbar so as it stands a towbar can't actually be fitted, the step system would have to be removed first. Which isn't happening. I like my step.

COL applies to vehicles with a COF which this vehicle does not have it a WOF on it . Van is probably under 3500kg laden a does not require a COF . Towing additional weight would depend on the Draw Bar fitted which it does not have .
