My every day driver is knocking 50yrs, maybe worth $4k on a good day, interior a bit shot. Has cost me about $11k in the 11yrs I've owned it (including purchase price). I figure a thousand bucks a year to drive a cool set of wheels is a small price to pay, and it's only ever let me down 3 times. It may be a bit rough and ready but it fits me great.

Forgot to make my point - about 12months ago I sold it to a younger family member as it needed a bit of work and got myself an XR8. Was ok untill 6 months later he found another project and asked if I wanted to buy it back. Sold the Ford right away and have never been happier to be back my classic.

TBH I assumed from your first post that it'd be a French car

But it's worse. Much worse.

LOL

EDIT: As you hopefully can tell I jest. Tweak it, call the cost entertainment, drive it and be happy

Wow. And I was thinking a Honda Civic or something.
The simple fact you are posting on here, tells me this is more than 'just a car' to you and I have a feeling you would regret selling it.

If you still love it, don't sell it unless you have to.
If you are a bit 'over' the cost of repairs, wait until summer and use it a bit, see if the smiles are worth it (I think you will find they are). If you have to ask, you aren't ready to sell.

Mate you're dreaming.what the hell are you doing for a grand a year?
Two oil changes,I air filter and that's it.
Unless you call the window washer bottle a $50 job.
Modern cars need stuff all.
Gearbox oil maybe once in ten years.

Seen one in a paint shop in the Naki last year that had a full resto, It was a stunning wee thing.
While I'm more the big block gas guzzling yank tank sort, I think you should stick with it as its only going to become better with a little love

I lose $000s each year just in depreciation and I don't love those cars. So if you are spending a grand or so a year to keep something you really like then imo I think you are getting a great deal.

I don't spend $1,000 a year on mine, that $11k over 11yrs included a repower, a fair bit of body work and a great set of mags and tyres
