these things can happen all together or one at a time sometimes not at all for a few weeks then all on again the completely stop, the worst our windows fog up almost instantly as y turn the car on it could be cold and raining or 30 degrees outside, used that stop fog spray stuff which helps a little, on cold days you can see like a white mist? coming from the heater vents and the last is every now and then can smell a sweet smell from the vents that one doesn't happen very often and ive heard of leaking radiator? but my partner is also spraying sweet smelling disinfectant in there when cleaning the car, with the fogging thing it doesn't matter if im blowing hot air cold air ac or recirculated or fresh nothing seems to help TIA for your advice

dry the car out - thoroughly on a hot day, doors open. Make sure your partner isn't cleaning the inside of the car with liquid - eg - stream cleaning seats.

Happened to me once too. was a leaking heater core. The dampness is probably because it's leaking under your mats, or into sound proofing on the firewall under your dash or similar.

thanks guys we live on the west coast so its basically always wet here lol I thought id try my luck here first- our mechanic has our other car can't distract him from that one

could be pin hole in the heater.

This is probably it, you have a leaking heater element and it steams up and you can smell the antifreeze.

or your hubby is using amourall on the dash. thats a big no no.amourall causes a fog on the windscreen that gets exagerated by air con and is impossible to remove. NEVER use armourall on the dash

the sweet smell is the antifreeze. It sometimes smells like sweet curry too

Get your mechanic to disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core. The 2 hoses need to be joined together instead of capped off. As some cars use the coolant flow through the heater for the thermostat to sense engine temp - cap off the heater hoses and the engine overheats.
