i Do have the adapter box from launch whom fits my scantool. i can tell you what it is but there is quite some problems and i made a youtube video whom i have not uploaded so far as a review of the tool i own.

problem number 1 is and its why i did not buy there top 4 grand upwards tool. Sales support and aftersales service is non existant , i have purchased software for my tool a few times , the last time for vw fiat a error occured during paiment process contact administrator. No reply from anyone rang australia launch listed as nz supplyer they said sorry your login shows us a blank screen and i should ask my money back from whom ever i purchased lol.

i also been to automechanika frankfurt germany launch europe said to me my tool was crap and i should buy there one so they can make profit and not support it after. i am happy with what my launch can do for what it costs , dispute with paypal has launched refund is due next sunday of 132$ us whom got paid to launch and errored out during payment = unpaid item money gone for me till i get a refund and can try again. All i wanted is them to maually enable it in my account ,,,,, but no reply nothing nada i assume no reply to paypal will be done also and i get a refund.

Now for bmw i do not know what the oem tool is i know for toyota its tis-techstream . You could find out and buy a pirated version with adapter for fully oem capable bmw scanner on private use . also you need to actuarly learn what the stuff will mean because it will just be giberish what the mass air data timing advance injector puls and there like will be that you would most likely get from a oem capbale scanner even on old vehicles for mercedes its DAS-xentry i might have to get me a pirated xentry as i am not happy with the amount of data i get on my launch for that.

i have one of these, allowed my standard obd2 scan tool to work with a non obd2 e39 540i. but it didnt respond in a non obd2 e36 323i so bit of a risk but cheap enough to fiddle with
Thanks budgel brought adaptor $19.00 , down loaded the latest version onto scanner , plugged in to BMW, told me all i wanted to know Very happy
