No wof but still needs checking for compliance with standards set. It's far easier if you have old documents. Google it, govt has heaps of info online. I had a velosolex and it just looked too hard.

Nope not even hard. Had 1 here last year, was real simple. Can't remember the exact details now but we took it to a compliance guy & he said about simply doing it through VTNZ. No safety checks/compliance needed as long as it was genuinely 49cc or under = moped. This was for a Keyway Flash.

Mrfixit-The gubbiment introduced new compliance laws for scooters. -It was because of all the dangerous piles of crud from 25-200cc being registered as scooters. So they do require one inspection before being allowed on the road. Im pretty sure that applies to re rego scooters too now.
