I Purchased a Mercedez Benz B200 from a dealer/importer in Auckland about 10 days ago, at the time of the sale I paid $100.00 extra to have the stereo converted to NZ stations, all was good until today when I asked a friend to install the Bluetooth and he said that when the new stereo, (which was not what I asked for)was put in they took out the factory stereo and reversing camera screen so now the car will not perform these 2 functions altering the vehicle dramatically What can I do, I want the vehicle to be original and was not told that they would remove and replace for the $100 I paid them

Hmmm, maybe dealer needed to explain a bit better. For $100 they couldn't get a genuine Mercedes unit with the screen etc from nz market, that would be several hundred at a guess. So I guess they just put in a generic head unit stereo, in which case yes Youve lost reversing camera, assuming it had one? If it did when you first saw it then cameras are still there and you could now add a seperate screen for viewing, or pay more for a generic head unit with a screen built in. They are available but not as cheaply. In fact $100 for a stereo and its wiring and, I assume, some facia panels to make it fit, is very cheap indeed. Often all you'd get is a band expander that changes the frequency but never work very well.
To be fair on them, these jap market screens are often only in JAPANESE so can be useless, but maybe you would have paid more to get a replacement with the reversing camera screen? Suggest you go talk to dealer and discuss the misunderstanding. Maybe a compromise can be reached.

If the factory screen and reversing camera are important to you why did you not notice it missing in 10 days of ownership?

Good point, maybe relevant to say that having original jap radio is not needed for resale, actually good nz unit is preferable.

Wineo Im confused by your post.-easily done. You are talking about the loss of two functions One being reverse camera the other the radio or is it the ABILITY to have blue tooth fitted? The factory radio fitted to the B200 is usually a built in unit with no Reverse camera. if your car had reverse camera fitted and a $100 radio has been fitted this tells me its an older B200 and in japan an after market radio was fitted with reverse camera. In a nutshell-To get reverse camera and Bluetooth function you need to spend more money for a better head unit. I would discuss this with the dealer to see what compromise can be reached.
