Speedy Sleves ?

Is that what you call them? Speedi Sleeves sorry
For the main crank shaft seal.
Do they just punch on with the motor hanging down in the engine bay.
Do ya use any special glue?
Are these things reliable ?
do you need an oversized seal ?
Are they any good?
I no nothing about them, and this is what the mechanic says to use after a failed new seal fitted 2 months ago or so. TD42
Surly the motor isn't shagged
Tell me what yall know
Thanks :)

Only a couple of thou thick, so normal seal used. Use a sealant. Comes with the sleeve, with a removable fitting flange, and a cup to tap it on. Tap it on, cut the flange off, side cutters to start it and then peel it off. They take the surface back to smooth and ungrooved.

speedi-sleeve.

Contact your local SKF :)

They are magic!

At the worst you may have to get a tool made to place them - this will be no more than a bit of pipe with the end turned off square, perhaps with an internal or external champher to suit the shape of the flange.

Hmm the Gold looks like what i want, i never wanna touch it again.
I've been utubing it as i didn't know they even existed.
Gearbox comes back out Monday, And im not gonna pay.
I will give the mechanic the genuine seal $54.00
I think hes sorted the speedi sleeve, but i might go and buy the gold one as his is most likly not the gold.

Mmm interesting thought.
This should work fine for driveshaft yokes as well.
Can't seem to stop the oil leaks out the back of the box despite fitting a new factory bearing sleeve & seal with a tidy yoke.
Checked the box vent pipe & thats fine & even changed the rear housing.

macman26, Oct 10, 6:38am
The plug isn't leaking on the end of the yoke by any chance ?

My neighbour had a David Brown selectomatic tractor - Noah used it to launch the ark.

They have a dry chamber for the brakes between the gearbox and the final drives. Every seal leaked, all shafts were scored badly. and then along came Speedi ! lol. Perfect now.

Commonly used on front & rear crankshaft seal surfaces. Especially Diesels which appear to wear more.
