CD player won't play some CDs

Evening all
I have an 08 Odyssey RB1 model, it just won't play some CDs, comes up with just 'err' or 'disc' and won't read them. Very rarely it will read and play the disc.
I've tried cleaning disc thingies from the warehouse, no change, or works once then not again.
These are all store bought CDs, no blanks that have been recorded.

It's all the OEM stereo of course so completely built-in.

Any relevant suggestions?
Cheers

anyway you can use mp3? ie memory stick or player that can connect to the system.

Nope doesn't play MP3 and no USB slot.
We have one of those radio tuner things for phones, but want to play some CDs.

are you talking about real CDs or burnt CDs?

OEM oddity cd player is unlikely to play any burnt disks only good quality original disks

As a first step, why not drop it in to a radio installation specialist, or similar, and get them to have a go at cleaning the laser reader thingy, using a cleaning solvent; I'm not convinced those Warehouse CDs cleaning discs are much good.

As mentioned I am only using 'real' CDs, not burnt ones. Some of these CDs are brand new, still won't play.
I've tried cleaning solvent on the disc from the warehouse but yeah will try a radio install place. Can't drop the radio in when it's part of teh car though :)

the optica laser probably got dust on it .same happened on my 6 disc changer in boot of my BMw . took it out & got covers off & cleaned the optic with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud . worked .

fred--it sounds likethe lazer has done its dash. There is one crowd who repairs that jap import stuff although it might be easier to fit another factory unit.
