Are there any major faults or drawbacks with these cars? Im thinking about buying one. Im not tall, would that need to be factored in? Ideally id like an automatic but i guess a manual would be ok if the price was right.

If you just want 2wd then try a late model Toyota Rush ( A Terios in disguise).I have seen a few Rush's that are 2wd , 1.5 and auto . Oh yes and ask Toyota if they will still get parts for them ! Funny if they say yes but then say they can not secure Daihatsu parts. Toyota own a large chunk of Daihatsu.

Actually the Toyota dealer network will continue to supply genuine parts.

Media release April 2013 - ???We want to assure customers that we will honour our commitment to Daihatsu owners in New Zealand and they need not worry about ongoing support. Toyota dealers will continue to supply parts and provide comprehensive service support for those vehicles,???

OP have you driven one, they tend to buck and jump like all those shortwheel based variants.I serviced a few. seemed reliable enough. The only major thing I did was replaced the heater core. that was fun.
