What a sight , so many Britten's in 1 place at the same time . Andrew Stroud couldn't resist lifting the front wheel at any opportunity . Would be the biggest crowed i have seen there for years and its just a qualifying day, noticed a lot of overseas visitors spending up large on anything Britten related, racing proper starts tomorrow .http://www.bearsracing.co.nz/-

Did my engineering course with Andrew, we used to race down the motorway home (he only had a 250 then) and he could ride. Nice guy.

Nice. I have fond memories of the Britten when it used to race around Pukekohe all those years ago - saw it race numerous times and what a sight and sound - used to hit the back straight and up on one wheel for what seemed like an age - awesome. Obviously Andrew Stroud rode it a bit - and even Chris Haldane rode it for while around that time?. I guess there has been a few notable riders of the Britten over the years.

I just happened to be handy when they wanted a lift to take the Bevel drive Britten off the stand so it could go out on the track . I said my mate i was staying with, did you get a pic of that . Nope he was to busy looking at something else . Was a great turn out , Stroud wasted some rubber on his way back to the pits with a couple of burnouts .
It sure is , the Denco engine bike was there as well . Was hard to get a pic with so many people .

I didn't realise there was a bevel Britten - but very clear to see in the second photo - was it a Ducati frame it was based around? I wish I had of kept my old bevel - was only an SD - but a very good example and got plenty of years of joy out of it - they are very collectable now and worth good money. at the time I had the bevel and also a mid 90s 900ss - and seemed to ride the belt drive a lot more. But still have a soft spot for the bevels - when I see and here one in the flesh I get goose bumps. just about bought an S2 Mille once - only if.

I cant be sure on the frame but i suspect it was very modded , front end looked like Marzocchi and the rear swing arm was braced .

Yeah looking at the photo and front end it could have been based around a MHR?.

I lusted after those brooke henry specials-The Alchemy for many years. Side mounted rear monoshock etc. Rode one from a bike shop in Sydney about 20 years ago.
I only got to see the smoke as was at the other side of the track . Was a top weekend .
