Buying a 2003 XR6T - what to look out for

Agreed had a VT here for a couple of years & a VY still here.
They both suffer badly from heavy bodys screwing the suspension bush's /joints etc.
Motors don't like being neglected, even less then most Jappa's.
Gearbox's seem to be a bit of a mixed bag.

LOL Umm yea that back plate is pretty prone to failing & it's a motor out job to replace.
Stupid thing covers an oil AND water gallery with one cover plate.
Exhaust manifolds crack in the corner joint of the branch.
Cracked heads
Tho the blocks seem ok

The big Fords have always had electrical/electronic problems with stupid stuff.
ABS & security system issues, window switches, coil packs, lights & odometers stopping.

I traded the commy for a jappa so far much better car and cheaper to run
