Re copies the Mustang comment, both had been planning and developing these engines for years and Ford simply released them a few months earlier. You can't say they copied Ford.
Re the car, I must say I am a little underwhelmed at the look. In fairness, they did say it wasn't going to be radically different and they were right.
The basic shape came out in 2010 and it's a natural evolution from that design.
I hope to buy and import one before the end of the year - The 455HP V8 of course, although I had made that decision months ago, before I had even seen it.

looks alright to me. Even though the whole car is new from the ground up it looks like an evolution of the last one.

Looks more like a pillbox than a car - the current one is already hard to see out of so this one will be ridiculous

Why anyone would want to buy one of those when there are perfectly good VWs, Peugeots or Fiat's available is beyond me.

Oh, wait, some people actually might want to enjoy their driving and not care about saving a few millilitres of petrol per kilometre.

The new Camaro is a lot lighter than the old one - should handle just fine

Well certainly compared to a VW or Fiat

I have just studied pics of the 2015 one along side the new one and it's just too similar looking to me, to call it an all new Camaro.

Tell you what though, it now has the same engine in it as the new Corvette Stingray has and also gone from the 6 speed auto to an 8 speed one.
Despite similar appearances, it is all new apart from the badging.
Did I mention it is over 200lbs lighter?
OK, I am happier now.

Looks a lot better than the old one.

looks vary similar to mustang especially the rear side view so of course it looks better than the last one LOL

I like it, but if not rhd hardly matters. Look forward to seeing comparison between the four cyclinder versions of each; surprised to see GM going in with less power than the Ford version, that could be a deal breaker.

tgray, May 19, 5:41am
Of course less power doesn't mean slower.
It's interesting how the V8's now have the same HP as the Stingrays, as they have always saved the performance edge for the Corvette - their flagship performance vehicle.
I guess they will have to up the power on next years model.

Quite right! Might be nicer drive, more usable power, etc. but with smaller capacity as well it would be surprising. But even then if it's simply a better drive than the mustang it might still work.
I suspect many U.S. buyers are brand loyal so it won't matter.
Interesting to get ratio of 4 cylinder buyers in states.

Would never buy a 4 cylinder what a waste. i like my 2010 super charged camaro 600hp .

Will make it easier to build V8 Super Cars then - one body, different clip-ons.

It's not the ZL1 then.
Mmnn. that's a pretty special car.
