poor bugger. its the risk they accept though I guess. i recall one famous rider's quote on his riding style 'see god then back off".

From the Mike the Bike website. I asked him about what you do when things go sideways at 120+ mph and you're sliding down the tarmac, what do you do?
He told me "Just go to sleep. Accept. If you don't you'll be broken into a thousand pieces. As long as you don't hit something hard, you'll be OK. Relax is the key."

Shit. I struggle to even watch a video of a lap. Must be one of the very purest forms of motor racing left.

Racing the IOM has been an ultimate goal of mine for a very long time. friends suggested going as a spectator and maybe riding it on "mad sunday" That has no appeal at all. Its gotten a heck of a lot harder now to be allowed to race the IOM in any class at all. having to have raced a certain number of sanctioned races elsewhere before hand.

I'm glad you haven't done it (yet) Kaz. My selection of black clothes doesn't go much past black jeans.

A friend goes regularly and does the mad Sunday thing on a hired Ducati.
He gets a bit pissed off because even on his big bike, same model as he owned in NZ, he only achieves 225 kmh where he knows the real lads achieve 325 kmh

I haven't crashed on a road circuit yet. gremlin told me you are getting pretty fast but mostly you have to ride at 75% of "safe" track pace.

You will never win a road circuit race then. 'coz there are guys who will ride at 100% on a road circuit, makes no difference to some racers out there.

I'm sure you would keep to the 75% when a front wheel appears beside you. That is an irresistible signal to switch to 100% or maybe a little more.
