Many years ago during the 70's , there was a novelty ice cream, that was packaged in a tennis ball shaped and sized plastic tub. When they were empty they were often put onto car tow balls as a cover. I found one in the shed and was rocking it on my Anglia tow ball about 20 years ago, possibly the last one in captivity ! Does any one remember what the name of that ice cream was?

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=855710484492967&id=425382087525811 One of the things people write to me about most about is Deck candy, and do I have a picture of it? The answer is NO I do not, and I don't know any collector that does, for some bizarre reason it's completely elusive. The other question I get most of all is - do I remember a plastic ball from some ice cream brand in the 1960s or 1970s that people used to stick on their car aerials, can I remember what it was called, and do I have a picture of that? Well, the answer is that there were two companies that made them; One was Wall's (Wall's Balls) and the other was Tip-Top (Mini Balls).
The school opened in 1970 and I still have the foundation school photograph from 1970 which is about 3ft long.
The principal was Mr. Jessup. Form 1 teacher Miss Abbott then she got married and became Mrs. Davidson. Form 2 teachers included Mr. Smith, Mr. Drake, Mr. Densem (woodwork) and Mr. Ross (whose nick name was sugar)and was a grumpy old prick and I hated him. There was also a Mr. Renoulf, Miss Norrie (cooking), Mr. Ball who got heaps when the ice cream company "Walls" brought out "Walls Balls" which were plastic balls filled with ice cream.

o.k looks like they were called ''walls balls'' not that I can do anything with this information, but it is good to be able to put a name to them. Perhaps Streets could re-introduce them, and once again we could all proudly drive around with our tow balls adorned in plasticy magnificence.

Can't find any reference to Walls Balls unfortunately. Hope these are similar to the Kiwi sold ice cream.
If my memory serves me correctly, I think they were called screw balls as you used to have to screw them to get them apart to get at the ice cream, not sure who was the manufacturer, thanks.
