There's a dent on my car panel that I believe to be purely cosmetic, but I am required to obtain a damage assessment report to proof that there is no structural damage to the car (and as such won't require repair).
How likely will I be able to get such an assessment from any panel beaters? Is there a service that does purely assessments?

if this is for a wof requirement, talk nicely to your local panelbeater . there may be a charge for his time. depending on how involved they get.

Had this issue with the old pulsar we'd owned for years and passed down to son. Some moron with a truck had wanged the boot lid and rear guard when it was parked (when we owned it - not the son's fault). Non structural and I'd passed several warrants no questions asked. 20YO son takes it for warrant, and they insisted it needed a cert. My panelbeater hates issuing certs as it's liability for him - but he can't charge much for looking at something for about 20 seconds - which was all that he needed. He didn't want any $$, so I dropped him off a dozen beer. As I'd taken it to the panelbeater, I dropped in at the WOF place with the cert (written and stamped on the back of the WOF form). The WOF guy recognised me, and got all apologetic for wasting my time. They're hard on young fellows, perhaps not on purpose but it seems that's just the way it is.
