There is only 1 in Wairapapa and one in Levin for the wellington area -- makes for an interesting way of getting the bike to them when it isn't legal to ride and you don't have access to a trailer! You would not believe the dramas we are going thru getting one bike revin'd . or some of the suggestions vtnz have told us to do . some of which certainly aren't legal!

Good news for me, my bikes passed compliance and ready to be picked up. Got at least a month of decent riding weather left I reckon.

I just heard today that because this is a standard motorbike that has lapsed rego and not modified that any VTNZ outfit will re-vin. this is a case of left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. FFS

Just got my 63 Trumpy cert'd in Levin this week. I'm in Rotorua but had to go down to Wgtn for a funeral so figured I'd give it a shot put it on the back of the ute. I can thoroughly recommend the effort to take it to the Levin VTNZ. The guy there has a real practical approach to older bikes. I rang him on Friday hoping I could maybe book it in for the following Tuesday, Yup no problem at all, Dropped off in the morning & picked up in the afternoon. Just one minor thing to fix but he was happy to pass it as he considered it routine maintenance anyway. Bloody top bloke.

hang on a mo-its not a "glorified WOF" and yep its 2015 so the bike has been sitting around unused for 16 years. With that time span who knows why it wasn't registered "back then" let alone what other issues its developed. Also yep its 2015 -so nobody has bothered with rego for 16 years NOW its hurry hurry.

I heard one of those certers left and another replaced him.LLVTA certs charged by him are now $600-$800 with one case the dude charging $1200 because the job took a few more hours than usual. That's the compliance center talking.

Kazbanz to WOF or VIN a motorbike is not rocket science so yes it is a glorified WOF. the same checks are done. I personally have had bikes for fourty years so know whether my machine will pass or not. Also why it went into the shed has know relevance whatsoever. It is now in perfect condition.
I dont think that lot is what is done for a wof somehow.
