Almost got em!

driving past a road repair crew loading trucks in the layby, sh1 open road 100km/h. one of the workers looks at crossing the road, looks at me, turns around walks away from the road, then spins around and sprints across.
good thing i was watching and was quick on the brakes, full emergency braking, big lock up in the wet and watch him run across in front of my bonnet.

thats yet another road works crew that owes me his life.

Did you contact the company about this

lol, nope, just shows you're at least a half pie driver and can react to changing idiocy by others, probably puts you in the top 10% of drivers

unfortunately no camera in the vehicle i was driving. otherwise i would have good footage for ya!
didn't see writing on the vehicles, i was a little busy. plus not sure if it was the tar seal crew or traffic control crew. i assume he ran across to put signs up/down.

never mind he will kill himself soon enough, just feel sorry for the poor bugger he steps out in front of.

LOL i was thinking of putting that in the title but might have been deleted if i did that.
tho road worker would have to at least 100 points ;)

tweake, May 23, 2:43pm

Another one just like that in Tauranga a couple of weeks ago, right outside the hospital entrance and he ran across the road in a flouro vest and got missed by cms.

skin1235, May 23, 9:34pm
obviously you need more driver training - how to heel do you miss s floro vest

It wasn't me, but I saw him just about get cleaned up by two lanes of traffic because he was too impatient to wait for the cross signal that was about 3m away. The driver that just about got him was on the inside lane when the idiot ran across from the far side straight across his bonnet and nearly had his legs and feet taken out as he cleared the vehicle.
Explain that to work safe when your running across a road to get back to your workmates and roadworks site.
Dunno if the STMS on site saw the incident but I would have stood the guy down.
