Got a really mucky, greasy and dirty engine, gearbox and under bonnet area to clean up. In the good old days it would just have been a proper steam cleaner, but don't have one of those. I do have a good domestic water blaster.
What is recommended? I have only a casual interest in the environment.
Thanks

I was told to avoid cheap degreasers as they contain a high percentage of paint stripper and will damage paint but do not know how true this is. To be cautious I buy cheap brands for gear where paint is not an issue but only use top brands on cars and tractors.
