You could get the radiator patched? Seems like a hell of a risk to take with an older car potentially worth a bit of money?

that stuff they sell at Repco, Autostop etc works like a charm, its a 2 bottle mix of what smells like superglue in one & crystals in the other, seals up or joins everything Ive tried it on including a hard to find radiator hose that was leaking at the T junction, one year & still going strong.

like i say ive put some rislones stuff in ($27 ) and a 13lb cap will see how it goes / planning going to Kumeu on the weekend . thanks guys

They have a copper radiator that is usually quite an easy fix so long as it isn't the core.
