Have you checked kiwibiker forums OP? I joined there looking for a learner bike and the bandit 250cc and Hyosung was on the list,with the CBR250.Most suggested I get the Bandit if I could not find the other bike,the Honda VT250 Spada. which I patiently waited and got!.

I agree, I own a 45HP GSXR250 and a 125HP RF900r and love riding the gixxer through the twisties, can get through the same sections of road I've ridden the RF9 on much faster when thrashing the arse off the 250, I can brake later and enter faster than I can on the 900.

I owned a gv250 for a year of riding and liked it for its tank size,height, comfort (but not for a pillion) It would cruise at 100 easily and overtake from 100 to 120 quick enough and tap out at 140 ish. i have been told the latest ones are much the same. I liked that the oil filter was easily changed for a susuki one and perhaps other parts are interchangeable too?
I like the look of the new ones but next time would buy a honda cbr.
