Just bought a couple of poulan 2250 chainsaws at auction. Both have the normal lime green bodies but 1 has red covers for brake and starter, and black top cover. Never seen a red poulan before. Any ideas as to when a red poulan was on the market? PS. definitly poulan covers as have the appropiate poulan stickers

McCullochs are Poulans with different colours nowadays, maybe they are sold in different livery as well.
Some of the poulans came out with multi coloured plastic like the "wild thing" and "predator"

Ok, now I got it. Yes desmodave, one of my saws is exactly like the pic, and also thanks to floscey too. It does have "predator" on it. When did these models come out?, They dont appear to be very old saws. One has 1997 on it. Would this be year of manufacture?

think they were still available thru bunnings or m10 ? early 2000s
Poulan saws haven't been genuine Poulan for years, the name was bought by some one and a company makes them for who ever owns the name. Same as Homelite and McCulloch Saws, Winchester is another one, I have a genuine Winchester shotgun and I have a later semi auto one made by FN in Belgium, its just a name.

I tend to avoid any product that uses its name as a gimmick.
Like poolan and Bose.

As I said Poulan and McCulloch haven't been genuine for years and are only a brand name for Husky.
