Sunbeam rapier 4speed + O/D Conversion into commer

does anyone know if the sunbeam rapier box will convert into my 1967 commer van without to many modifications? running alloy head 1725 need the overdrive to help her stop screaming her tits of on the open road. Also trying to track down the sunbeam rapier box or even the complete car for good price, any help fellas?!

Would probably be far cheaper to convert a Toyota 5 speed to the Hunter engine.
Either way it will need to be certed

Tho, if it's all done really nice & looks original with the Rapier box, driveshaft etc?
A bigger problem could be that the Rapier + o/d box won't be strong enough long term.

Those rapier boxes and working over drives are hard to get hold of. Someone here asked a few months back and it seems they have become valuable.

The O/D was available in other Rootes cars with the 1725 engine. Hunter SWs, Vogues et al.

Has the hillman alloy motor installed, I heared they are getting hard to find would prefer to keep in the rootes family instead of 5 speed conversion

Does have rust by the sounds but I'm sure any good part will get sold to a loving home!
