he vanished when VW was outed

I dunno dude. His last week of posting it "felt" like there was behind the scenes stuff going on. Then almost straight way the big VW bomb got dropped so I suspect he's avoiding all the "I told ya so's "

Nah it was way before that. He seemed to get pissed off with attacks and stopped visiting here.

I miss his posts. Really.

He was posting in General the other day, I assume he got tired of the personal attacks. Some people have trouble differentiating between debating and getting personal.

I'd suggest that generalising people as "brainless sheep" tends to fall into the latter category. If ya can't take it, don't give it.

Yep, I got that feeling too. The tack spitting had reached a bit of a plateau then poof. I would be VERY surprised if further posting occurred especially in relation to certain Jap vs Euro subjects.

Fair enough,It was almost a religion with him The" IS "of the motoring world, totally one eyed particularly against Toyota. Cheers. Makes the Ford vs Holden almost friendly.

I think he took things a bit seriously on here, and took it personally when people had different opinions. If I started to lose sleep over what cars people wanted to buy, I would leave the message board too.

Despite being somewhat one-eyed and overly passionate Jazz has always made a big contribution to this MB. In our modern multimedia world of short attention spans and one line comments not reacting to anything has sadly become the bland, boring norm.
Despite his drawbacks this is the one travesty that Jazz will never be guilty of.

I very much agree with you on that one mate, VW's only crime was getting caught.

I agree.
I heard from him not so long ago. All is well.
There are ways to contact him for those that want his advice if you look.

With all due respect, his opinions were very Euro orientated which I found humorous, However as just a watcher on this message board I found attacks on him distasteful. Personally I didn't agree with him, but would never attack him for the beliefs he had. Unlike some some of the pretentious know it all plonkers who post here. I stopped posting here years ago as there are so many who know much more than me. Shit stuff like CGA, why didn't you get an independent check, $1.00 reserve let the market decide, small claims, never much that helps really, at least he posted what he believed, whether it be right or wrong. You know who you are. Still watch & chuckle at the dreadful advice you give to the average Joe Blogs. Tamarillo, you have taken over from Jazz anyway. LOL. There are about 6 posters here who spout their opinion regularly, all you have to do is put their name in the search part top left, and just put in the last 24 hours. You would be surprised how many threads they comment on. Wish I was so knowledgeable. Wankers. Opps shouldn't have said that. Enjoy your night guys, have a good read. I won't respond to any comments, for another 2 years, just felt strongly for Jazz.

You are all wrong. His Fiat broke down out in the wops. He tried to hitch a ride but the only cars that would stop were 4 spd auto Suzuki Swifts. Consequently he is still walking.

I hope we see him on here again. He seems like a good bloke and is clearly a helluva knowledgeable guy in his field of expertise.
I think he just genuinely doesn't understand that many of us are just a LOT less resourceful and a LOT less skilled. So when people say that having to personally source parts to make a service affordable might be enough to put them off certain purchasing choices, or when people say that personally dismantling the whole front end of a car to do an "easy" cam belt and water pump in the driveway is a bit daunting to some of us mere mortals, I think that kind of helplessness just genuinely didn't make sense to him.

As much as I liked and enjoyed Jazz's contribution on this forum he was a master at talking down to people and saying they were "knuckle dragging trolls" if they had a different opinion to him. Yes, his heart was definitely in the right place but if you belittle or scoff at others opinions it's no good moaning when others do it to you. He came across as "My opinion is right because its based on fact and logic but yours is just an opinion based on flawed logic" - very arrogant. Anyway, I'm still sorry he is gone as a fellow Euro (but not only Euro) car lover.

The good news with an internet forum is that everything is recorded. So any question of who was dishing out personal insults and threats is fairly easy to see.
