Long way to take a trailer!

I serviced crewed on 2006 Targa for Adrian Blackburn's Mini Marcos for the first couple of days. It hadn't even run until the day before Targa, but apart from a slight cylinder head hiccup (fixed in Rotorua) it finished the event. Went very well too.

Adrian is somewhat shorter than I am, so when I had the opportunity to drive it some weeks later, I found it rather difficult to drive with my knees tucked under my chin, due to the fixed seat and cage!

With a 1380cc engine, that would go pretty well! I have a very good 1300 Mini engine under my bench, but fear that I am now too old to start thinking about going back to Minis, so I'll pass on that. Thanks anyway.

May even sell the full sized one next year. I'll have owned and raced it for 25 years by then.

The Ibis never competed at Le Mans though. The Mini Marcos did in 1966 - and was highest placed British finisher! In fact, it was the only British finisher that year.
