Hi any idea what approx cost of repairs:

1997 Nissan Cefiro Stationwagon
Failed on rust on front cross member (front & rear) Radiator support?

Depends on who does it and where you get it done.

You might be able to do it yourself and that requires you to find the parts and take the old ones out and fit in the new ones.

Otherwise maybe GUESS $500 or less, depends on the amount of work and hardness you have in accessing the bolts etc, my brothers son had the same problem. Hence it's a common problem.

Lol it isn't a case of replacing the x member, it requires cutting and a competent welder to fix the panel it attaches to, its a bitch of a thing. Failed an A33 sedan for that problem only last week, you'd hope 4-500 would cover it.

Bugger heading down to Dunedin in 2 week and wanted to sell it. Maybe off to the wreckers instead

Would it be better to $1 reserve it on here and see what I get?

Might pay to mention that in your ad. (o:

Jake--its actually becoming quite a common fault as those cars are getting to 20 years old. The inspectors know EXACTLY where to look.
The cost will depend on the extent of the rust. I would personally be lifting the car up ,removing the under engine trim and doing a good sandpaper/wire brush cleanup to establish where you are at ie how bad the damage is. last one that caught me out was a $500 repair

And that's at dealers rates -us mere mortals would probably pay twice that.

Nope I wouldn't think so-maybe 10% more
