the nurburgring, a test of men, chassis, and engines. had the longest full throttle 5th gear run of any track. 25 seconds, downhill with curves. THAT is the sort of thing that real motor racing needs

Off topic a wee bit, but has anyone tried the old computer simulation "Grand Prix Legends", based on the 1967 F1 season?

That includes the Nurburgring so you can actually 'drive' the track - in a Lotus, Brabham, Ferrari, BRM, "Eagle", "Honda" etc, complete with real engine noises. I can't even manage more than about 3 laps of Monza at race speed without falling off, let alone the 'Ring'!
