Thought you guys might want a couple of laughs.
Heres a couple of "stories" told to me by customers.
1)The oil level in my car is different when I check it cold and when I check it hot--theres something wrong.(yes i checked the oil as soon as i stopped my car)
2)The oil has changed color over the 6 months and 7000km Ive driven the car.-theres something wrong.
3)I was filling my car up with petrol 5 months after I bought it from you -theres a pool of petrol under it.-thers something wrong with the car (nothing to do with me spilling petrol of course)
4) at random my manual car just wont start when I turn the key-must be something wrong.(ohh yeas the floor mat is jammed up under the pedals but so what?)
5)My car suddenly seems to be revving very high on the motorway --the gearbox is faulty.(Yes the orange OD light is on but so what?)
6) one headlight stopped working on low beam a month afer i bought the car-You guys must have gotten a dodgy WOF.
But by far the VERY best
My son bought a rear wheel drive 2000cc manual car 6 months ago and its failed its WOF because the rear tyres are bald--you guys sold him a dodgy car (despite the "glued on" bits of burned tyre rubber under the wheel arches)

Awesome. I bet ya some of these geniuses earn more money than you or I too Kaz. All is not right with this crazy world.

My ex came to your business, and your wife was quite helpful she said. Thanks. ps she is still looking.

"That paint you sold me is faulty, it's all mottley". Now I have sold many many litres to others with no complaints. "Did you use the correct thinners?" I ask. Puzzled look ensues, "what do you mean? I used universal thinners." All this from someone who claims they are a professional car painter.

lissa25, Jul 21, 2:24pm
Should've sold him 4 liters of striped paint

gammelvind, Jul 21, 2:29pm
We have had supply issues with that, but we do have plenty of tartan in stock.

That is simply excellent fuel economy!

ladatrouble, Jul 21, 2:54pm
We get the oil thing too - You changed my oil last week, I just checked it and it's black! That's the same filter too, you just wiped the filter clean and didn't even change the oil.

There's a stone wedged in my wheel disc and under the CGA you need to 'fix it'.
($3000 car and 6 months later and 14,000k's travelled).

Its only the start of it Kaz, for all the reasons we have been discussing over the last few weeks on this board with respect to you-know-what law change. We had a silly cow in just last week complaining about not being able to hook her trailers safety chain onto a towbar (genuine part too) we had just fitted a few weeks earlier, the hole in the tongue was too small and the whole "fitness for purpose" line started emitting from her mouth. I replied "just let me have a look". It turned out she was trying to fit the D shackle loop that the shackle pin fits through, through the hole in the towbar! When I aligned the two holes in the shackle up with the towbar hole and inserted the pin through all three holes and screwed it in I got a blank look and a "Oh that's how you do it" and she buggered off without another word. Time to get out of the motor trade methinks, this is complete CRAP.

Should have told her to dye her hair blond

richynuts, Jul 21, 5:02pm
The people with these 'stories' appear to be genuinely dumb. maybe thats why they bought from a dealer in the first place?

#3 could always be crapped out hose on the tank breather. I left an attendant filling my 1st car then spotted that he was already 5 gal over capacity and still going.

Must have been a euro.

Sold a young eejit a $5.00 12v horn for his car (needed for wof ). A week later he's back, horn in hand (wof on screen). "this horn you sold me is + earth, my car is - earth" you're ripping me off he states. I took the him along with the horn to the work bench wired it + earth touched the battery Barrrrpp. Switched the clips to - earth Barrrrpp. I walked him out to the front of the yard and heaved the horn as far as i could over the road and told if he doesn't p-off he'd be following the horn. I am by nature a very placid bloke and rip off I never did/do.

Funniest one I heard was from a dealer mate who said a couple came all the way from over the Shore to his Pakuranga dealership and said they wanted their money back because every morning they started their car,a blue light came on so something was wrong with the car!
Uhhhh. the blue lights on because the engine has been started from cold?

brapbrap8, Jul 21, 9:49pm
I had a mate buy a second hand V8 Holden Adventura a few years back. He blew the gearbox up ripping helis' in the rugby club carpark a few weeks later.
Told the dealer he was just driving along the highway when it broke.

The dealer believed it and replaced the box.

Inevitably, they forget to clean up the top inside of the wheel arches after doing burnouts & busting something.

loose.unit8, Jul 22, 3:31pm
It's people like your mate who prove the old adage "buyers are liars."

kazbanz, Jul 22, 4:05pm
sorry if this sounds arrogant mate-not intended-
But if that happenned I would be kicking the salesmans backside all round the yard.It would mean he diddn't do the "delivery" of the car properly

snoopy221, Jul 22, 9:57pm
