What do you think a standard HQ holen is worth?

Got a regular stock HQ, original paint that isn't flash but not rusty. It's a 72 Belmont. Reg lapsed. Geez I didn't do very well in the spelling test eh? I can't edit the heading though so it is there for ever. proof that I shouldn't of left school at 14 years old.

Whatever someone wants to pay.
It will be worth more than what it should be due to nostalgia and rarity. The Belly was a very basic old bus.

Prob best to see what they have been going for when setting a price.

Quite a bit. If it is rust free as you say even more. They do have a habit of being rusty where you can't see though. You could be looking up to 10k if its real genuine. The fact that the paint is faded and original puts the price up as well to the right person.
Now, is it actually worth that amount? to me never lol, but to many it is.

Worth $6000 - $8000, try the holden club, all as aboe depends on the condition and who wants to buy it. I myself prefer the Kingswood, few more trims, but each to their own.

Not likely anywhere near this price. at all!

In the condition you described, i would think 2k at a minimum 4k max.

A rust free model with origional paint as described would fetch a lot more than 4k. Im looking at an HQ at the moment athough an unusual model for 39k

Ahh the good ol Belmont. My HJ belmont cost me $5800. 30 years ago. Yep, still driving it to this day! I have seen some stupid prices, and some very sensible ones too. Depends on how many prospective buyers there are. start the bidding!
Oh and remember, the Belmont was the lightest model in the range. Better performance and economy! (check my profile pic, yes, daily ride!)

Yes I agree. Easily 6k-8k

bjmh, Apr 25, 12:06pm
dave653 is that photo . your holden carb system ?

ratherbefishin, Apr 25, 2:25pm
Reasonable condition it's worth $5k plus.

typhoon666, Apr 25, 8:13pm
You can get a mean as old America car for half the price of some of these HQs on here.

elect70, Apr 26, 1:27pm
Must be hundred or more sitting in sheds now theHQ racing has died out , aussie even made new panels from origonal dies for them so theroretically you could rebuild one in new panels . that decreases their rareity & price & belmont was the only the cheap version without the flash trim & with the smaller donk (174 cu inch ? as i recall)

franc123, Apr 26, 3:19pm
Correct, it was the fleet special, standard with 173ci but 202 was a common factory option and no doubt later in their lives most got repowered anyway. Some police versions were speced with 253 V8's IIRC.

I don't get anyone giving you a price for this, it's just to huge an unknown and possible condition too variable. Lots of photos would help at least narrow it down a bit. Without it, these opinions are just pie in sky.
