My nuts

moviemakerguy, Jan 20, 7:30pm
Hi guys,

I've lost the lock nuts for my car. the car has a flat (after not being driven for many months) and is locked in a garage. Is there any way of removing the lock nuts or pumping up the tyres without moving the car?

See if you can buy/ borrow a key from a tyre shop, failing that you may be able to hammer an old socket on over the locknut and remove it like that. Or borrow a compressor with a tyre inflation fitting.

Lada's come with a hand pump - use that.

EEEP--if the tyre has a slow flat then buy a tyre pump and pump it up.
Then go to a decent tyre crowd to have the locknut issue sorted.

Get a socket that's a close fit diameter wise and then beat it on and then un-do it. Learnt that trick on the side of the road one day when the lock nut remover socket snapped in half in the middle of no where with a flat tyre. Happened to have a 1/2 inch socket set on board- The things you come up with on the side of the road. Never bothered with lock nuts after that

Opps 2 beat me to it

If you dont mind spending a few bucks, there are tyre repair aerosol cans available that will inflate your tyres enough to get it mobile. One can per tyre.

If only someone made 12 volt tyre pumps that plugs into lighter socket. that would be useful
