Muudflaps on the rear of VL Dunnydoor. How many will admit to drilling through the spare wheel when fitting the inner bit of the rear one (pick me)

Apprentice fitting number plates to a Hillman Hunter, drilled through the splash panel and into the bottom tank of the radiator, then tried to solder around the long self tappers to stop it leaking

I knew a guy who found the spare wheel well in the boot of a Falcon was full of water so he punched a drain hole through it with a screw driver. "Where's that petrol coming from?". Oooops.

Somebody jacking an engine up in a boat to align it to the propshaft, he had seen us do it,but he did not notice the big piece of wood we had across the sump.
Next thing, can you help me with lifting the engine out, it seems all the oil has run into the bilge.
Not an easy job. but two strops a couple of long steel poles and lot of man power and we did it.

EIP Vauxhall "55, gosh that brings back [self inflicted] nightmares. Was replacing gearbox bearings in my youth [blame the youth] but in the 'not well lit' shed one night & where the mainshaft runs in needle rollers in the front shaft there's a washer each end of rollers [you guessed it] while rollers were out [till next night] outer washer dropped down the other end then in the half dark i fed the new rollers in &-- short story getting longer--wifey stops at work the next day saying something's not right, had spat em out & chewed them up. Good old Vaux, cleaned up the mess, dressed up the shaft nose & did the job again--went for years after. Could even transport my mx bike up to Taumarunui back then with rear seat out, then forks & wheel off the bike. Brother had a "56 or "57 [uprated from mine lol] &[also off to Taumarunui mx] & heading down the hill [going north from palmy towards Ohingaiti], down long hill before long climb up to ohingaiti & The Damn Valve Seat Dropped Out--locked it solid, panic clutch & speared off int the car park at bottom of hill. Pretty much how it happened --was a long time ago. Oh hell, won't tell you about the time [in my EIP], i didn't split pin the king pin lock nut on the drivers side--[i'll let it settle for a few miles then i'll get it up a bit more to the split pin hole]--had locknut done up tight [i think] & fell apart in the Mangawekas [11pm]. That story goes on n on but next day jacked it up & popped it in, walked back up the road some distance but found one nut. Wonder we're still here & wouldn't get away with it nowdays! lol. Sorry for the essays.

One more [frost plug story]. Had my tidy Mk1 Triumph 2000 for sale. Guy comes to look at it so let him go for a drive on his own & remember walking up to the car as he got out & it just went 'poof' [well poof sound lol] & disappeared in a cloud of steam. RH side frost plug, luckily wasn't too hard to get at & replace. He never bought it though! .

Elderly lady [uh, about my age] backed out of the neighbours late evening & in a rental, disappeared into the deep drain & lay almost totaly on it's side. Toot Toot for ages [i had radio going in the shed] & funny--not--thing was as i went to the shed i saw her backing out & when i came in ages later i thought i could see lights shining from the drain, then toot toot again luckily. Took the tow wagon a bit to get it out & was dragging it backwards. Was a bit of a mess. Lucky lady realy & hate to think how it might have ended.

Backed my Uncles V8 coon out of the drive and across the road into neighbours work van. Toball made a mess, no mark on coon. Luck my brother in law was a panel beater, and sister did his books. I think a case or three of stienies was the final count, dont really remember how many we drank
