I have just written to trademe with a complaint. I dont know if you are aware of this but if you advertise a car complete with a wof and reg and either of them expire while the car is being advertised, the listing defaults to unreg and unwof but when you get the new wof and/or reg it does not correct the change so that you finish up advertising a car that seemingly is not roadworthy. . I for one dont thnk that this is a fairgo. What is the opinion?

The problem is information from the motor vehicle register is 'pulled' by companies such as trademe, it is not 'pushed' by NZTA when something interesting happens. i.e when you list a vehicle they go get the info. Included in that info will be the fact that the licence and wof expiry are X. So when those dates roll around trademe can automatically update the listing, easy peasy.
Then you go get a WOF and/or licence. However unless there is some way of you telling trademe that they should go look up the info again, their system has no way of knowing the expiry's have changed.
I guess there needs to be a "refresh listing" option, but it would still be a manual action on your part. I'm not seeing anyway trademe could automate it, I very much doubt they will offer to do an automatic check every day for every vehicle listed just in case something has changed (as every lookup costs them). NZTA will never 'push' info out to interested private companies the way they do for Police.

I'm pretty sure you just need to go to "edit listing" within your classified, and change the WOF and Registration fields manually. I certainly do that with mine. However- I elect to manually enter all vehicle data from the start when creating a new listing. I don't let Trademe / Motorweb auto-populate the data for me. So I can't be certain if you DO use that method of listing, that you can still manually edit after the classified has started. Give it a go and try it!
