Looks to me like you're perfectly sane. My guess is the guy wants people to ask for whatever they actually want. After his response I'd be looking elsewhere

no offense . but he has nearly twice as many online sales as you. he could have worded that reply better but he has what people want. BJ Autos has been around for a long time and run a successful workshop and parts business. at least they used to .I'm assuming still the same operators.

Mute point there - he is running business, I'm not. I have occasional few parts to sell. Might be very good supplier indeed, but that doesn't mean he is any good at online sales and the ability communicate well on the internet. Years ago the best peugeot mechanic I found was a rude difficult bugger. Made it hard to use him, car would disappear for days when I needed it back. Hardly ever answered phone. BUT he was great with his spanners.
